Horse Sale Review from Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Horse Sale Day 1 with the main horses, buyers and sellers. 

 

  • The top lot of the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale Day 1 was a 3yo son of Scorpion who was bought by Aiden Murphy for €80,000. He was sold by Ennel Bloodstock and is a half brother to Another Jewel and is realted to the Champion Hurdler Istabraq.  
 
  • Margaret O’Toole bought a son of Oscar for €60,000 from Railstown Stud. He is out of bumper winning mare Some Bob Back and is related to Gr.1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Synchronised. 
  • Peter Vaughan of Moanmore Stables sold a 3yo son of Network to UK trainer Tom Lacey for €50,000. He is related to some good quality French-based jumpers.
  • Graigue Farm sold a 3yo son of Beneficial on behalf of Bannow Bloodstock to Tom Malone for €40,000. He is related to a Listed winning hurdler Laurel View.
  • Tipperary breeder Jimmy Finn sold a son of Arcadio related to Gr.1 placed chaser Mullacash to Gerry Griffin and Nicky Richards for €37,000. He also sold a son of Gold Well to Brendan Bashford, who was buying on behalf of Charlie Swan, for €26,000 and he is out of a full sister to Gr.1 Galway Hurdle winner Cuan Na Grai.
  • Edward Walsh bought a son of Indian River, another horse from Jimmy Finn's base, for €25,000. He is a half brother to Joxer, a Gr.2 and Listed placed hurdler and is also related to Galway Festival chase winner Ballyfinboy. 
  • Monbeg Stables bought a Flemensfirth gelding who is a half brother to a winner and is related to dual Gr.2 Chase winner Stormyfairweather. He was sold by Mount Eaton Stud for €34,000. Stow Stud also sold a son of King’s Theatre to the Monbeg Stables team for €25,000.
  • Horse Park Stud sold a 3yo Gold Well to Bobby O’Ryan for €30,000 and he is the first foal out of a Grand Lodge half sister to Ultimateto, a 6 times winner and Gr.2-placed hurdler. 
  • Trainer Conor O’Dwyer bought a 3yo Milan gelding who is a half brother to a winner out of an unraced Supreme Leader mare, from Mocklershill Stables for €30,000. 
  • Clonogan House Stud sold a son of Robin Des Champs out of Silver Patriarch who is related to Gr.2 bumper winner Karanja. He went to Highflyer Bloodstock for €32,000. 
  • Limestone Farm paid €26,000 for a Beneficial gelding out of a 3 time point-to-point winning mare and is related to Gr.3 winning staying chaser Rambling Minster. He was bought from Glen Stables.
